This week's post
This week doesn't seem to be getting anything worth posting about so far so I'm going to try and sum up what I know about this week in one post.
So far this week:
I've been to my cousins and had a game session on their Xbox. We played Halo 3, a short Firefight on Halo 3: ODST, a match on COD5 and some songs on GH:GH. I updated my avatar for their Xbox and gained 120g, making my gamerscore 655g.
I have also been to buy presents for my both my Grandma's as it's there birthdays today and tomorrow.
I am going to be playing my good ol' carnival drums on Halloween in Keswick. Can't remember why but it will be fun.
Also as a small bit at the end of this post I'd like to say what exactly I'd like in terms of games for the Xbox when I (finally) get one:

Nintendo News and Youtube update!
Today Nintendo have sent out an update for the Wii Shop Channel which allows you to claim your free 500 Wii Points NES game if you are one of the people to have purchased the Internet channel when it cost 500 Wii Points. I chose to get Super Mario Bros. Why? It's a classic!
Also in the Wii Shop Channel update, Nintendo revealed a new feature of the Wii Shop channel. Connection Ambassadors. With this Wii owners who already have a internet connection on their Wii can register other peoples friend codes who they have helped to get one for themselves. You get 500 Wii Points for each person you help (the person helped will also get this 500 Wii Points). When you help 10 people you can download any NES virtual console game for free (any you have already purchased will be made available to send to one person for free). Then when you help 20 people you can download any NES, SNES and N64 virtual console game for free. Sounds like a good scheme, unfortunately it isn't one I can really make use of on account anyone I know with a Wii has already established an internet connection more than a month ago.
Finally in my own Youtube news, I am having trouble recording playthroughs on account I can't get the sound to work properly, I will keep trying, but no promises.

Youtube and Guitar!
Gasp, I have an idea of what to do on my Youtube page! I am going to start playthroughs of some games I can get on my PC. I am thinking of starting with Quake. Not sure yet though, if you have a suggestion please say in the comments below.
Also I'm going to learn R-Evolve - 30 Seconds to Mars on my guitar starting tomorrow. Seems like it shouldn't be too hard to learn, so fingers crossed. Just gotta find some tab first =]
Other than that I can't think of much else to say, so see ya later!

Brutal Legend!
Brutal Legend is the newest game from designer Tim Shafer. In it Eddie Riggs, the world's best roadie (voiced by Jack Black), is crushed by a stage prop while touring with the world's worst Rock band, Kabbage Boy. Eddie is then transported into a nordic world inspired by Heavy metal album covers. In this world Humans have been overthrown by Demons and Eddie is thought of by other Humans as "the chosen one".
Basically with your broad axe "The Seperator", your magical flying-V guitar "Clementine" and your heavy metal, self built, hot-rod "The Deuce" a.k.a "The Druid Plow", you control Eddie and defeat the head honcho of the demons, Doviliculus (Tim Curry).
Brutal Legend features celebrities such as Jack Black, Ozzy Osbourne and Lemmy from Motorhead. Each of which providing their voices and appearences to the game. Brutal Legend also contains a music setlist larger than any of the Guitar Heroes or Rock Band's, all for your listening pleasure.

Band Hero & DJ Hero - Why I don't like them
Guitar Hero. Say that name and anyone who hasn't been living under a rock for the last few years knows what you mean. It is one of my personal favourite Game series, which for the most part has gotten better as time goes by. But Activison aren't happy appealing to all the rock lovers in the world. They need to "entertain" the rest of the music listening and game playing population. So they have been developing 2 new games following the Guitar Hero format. DJ Hero and Band Hero.
DJ Hero is Activisions attempt to appeal to the "dance" genre of music taste. Or as I pretty much call them, Chavs. It is a good idea, don't get me wrong. It's just they apparently have that many genres of mixes anyone would want to play. After looking at the setlist, I only like one song listed (Gorrilaz - Feel Good Inc.) and it's mixed with a song I don't know, and would probably hate. Also if they have included songs from every genre, then people are going to be playing the same 5-10 songs all the time. This is why I liked the setlist for GHWT, it was a large list that stuck closely to the same genre. So I had more to play.
Band Hero on the other hand sticks very close to the formula that was made in GH5. Using the existing 4 music peripherals and the any combination gameplay. Good so far. But upon looking at the setlist, I nearly had a fit. They are all Pop songs! I have a feeling that most people who buy this are going to want to sing, because most of the songs don't seem to emphasise on the instruments, bad judgement Activision. Then they are also releasing this on DS, along with a Drum pad so DS lite (and only DS lite) owners can play drums on it also. Now these songs are supposed to be the same style as the console version. Wrong again. This is all the sort of things we have had before on the GH: On Tour series. Arrgh, Activison, Monkey Wrench by Foo Fighters is nowhere near the same as Love Story by Taylor Swift!
Rant over now. Too be honest I just felt like writing something so there actually was a post today. But this is how I honestly feel about the games. And of the 3 (counting the DS Band Hero as a seperate game) the only one I would even consider buying is the DS Band Hero. Last words to Activision: Don't "fix" what isn't broke! Guitar Hero has sold increasingly better over time dispite it being the same music genre, and dropping it for Band Hero is a stupid move!

I'm so Proud!
Tonight is the Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards and I'm going to comment along with it. For those who don't know these awards are given to those who have done acts of bravery or beyond all expectations.
So starting off the Awards are Diversity. Wow they get around! I can't seem to find a show/channel they haven't been on.
After Diversity finished their little thing, Carol Vorderman comes up to the stage to begin presenting. She talks about all the great supportive people in the sudience and then makes a joke about Simon Cowell, Before going into a Montage about what the pride of britain awards are about.
First award: A Man gets an award for stopping on the hard shoulder of the motorway, crossing over to a car that had crashed on the fast lane and saving first the Mother and Baby, and then going back to save the injured Father and the 3 year old son.
Thoughts: Wow, brave guy! I don't think I would have the guts to cross a busy Motorway at Night.
Second Award: An 11 year old boy caught Leukemia and went into a coma after the first Theropy session. When he final pulled through he was paralyzed and had to recover. Upon his recovery he decided to help the Hospital who had helped him with fundraising and public speaking. During his illness he made a Video Diary to help other people know that everything will get better.
Thoughts: Well done.
Third Award: A soldier stationed in Afghanistan was on duty and got word of a possible Suicide Bomber heading his way on a Motorbike. Moments later he heard the click of a detonator and immediately acted to avoid the bomb exploding and harming anyone. (Sorry if any of these details are wrong, was short clip.)
Thoughts: Brave guy, pride to the MoD and Army.
Fourth Award: A Woman went to Doctors to be checked for breast cancer and was reassured of not having it. So she went on a working holiday and returned 6 months later. When she got back it was worse and got checked again. She was diagnosed with breast cancer and a week later diagnosed with secondary cancer. Her cancer is currently at an advanced stage but deals with it with a sense of humour. Launched nationwide campaign within 2 months of diagnosis.
Thoughts: Brilliant example of someone willing to help others despite their own circumstances.
Fifth Award: 8 year old girl contracted an extremely bad strain of Meningitis when 4 months old. The doctors told her mum they would have to amputate her legs. Recently, she has had to face bullying because of her prosthetic legs. And started Karate to boost her confidence.
Thoughts: Brave and sad story.
Sixth Award (Fundraiser (If it was an award)): Cycled from Edinburgh to London in 2 days, non-stop for charity.
Thoughts: Well done, brilliant accomplishment.
Seventh Award (Special Recognition): Woman whose sisters were forced into Marriage. She came home one day and when told she was getting married she ran away from home. 7/8 years later, after being disowned, she was tracked down by a family friend and told one of her sisters had commited suicide, by burning themselves alive. She has used that to shape her life and works against forced marriages.
Thoughts: Brave woman for standing up against this.
Eighth Award: Boy who grew up bad and got 176 convictions. He lost too much weight in his trips to prison and was hospitalised. A famil member died during his last trip to jail which made him change his mind about his life. He got a grant from Prince's Trust and began making an honest living.
Thoughts: Every cloud obviously does have a Silver Lining. Cliched I know but looks like it's true.
Ninth Award: All the medics working in the British Army, who work on the front lines.
Thoughts: They deserve the recognition.
Tenth Award (Special Recognition): 95 year old lady who is an absailor.
Thoughts: Amazing
Eleventh Award: Mother left Hot Tap on and younger sister of two ,who had just started walking, fell into a boiling hot bath. Older sister jumped in to save baby sister, who had gained life threatening injuries. 7 years later they are both very well.
Thoughts: Terrible story, feel very sorry for the younger sisters experience.
Twelth Award: Joanna Lumley (questionable spelling) challenged british government for application of a group of people, called the Gerkers, who have worked side by side with the Military for over 150 years, who requested to join England.
Thoughts: Well done.
Thirteenth Award (GMTV Award - Very brief on screen):Policewoman who defended someone who was covered in Petrol and being threatened to be set alight, who inturn got the same threat.
Thoughts: Brave soul.
Fourteenth Award (Lifetime Achievement presented by Gordon Brown): Sir Peter Mansfield (I think thats his name) who has already recieved a Noble prize, created a machine to examine the body with electromagnetism rather than X-Rays.
Thoughts: Deserves it.
Fifteenth Award: Community Projects. One of which is for children to grow there own vegetables. Which are distributed to their families and the elderly. But also many others aswell.
Thoughts: Well deserves it.
Sixteenth Award (ITV): Man from Sussex helps blind and visually impaired children participate in sports, despite being visually impaired himself.
Thoughts: Another brilliant example of someone willing to help others despite their own circumstances.
Seventeenth Award: Man who served in the army and completed the London Marathon despite barely being able to walk. To date has raised £1.2Million.
Thoughts: Extraordinarily brilliant!
The following three followed in quick succession:
Eighteenth Award: Woman who saved a baby from a dog.
Ninteenth Award: Inspirational Maths Teacher.
Twentieth Award: Man who tackled an armed robber.
Thoughts on Final three: Outstanding people.
Overall Thoughts: Well done to everyone who recieved awards, you are all truelly inspirational and deserve your awards.
Thats all for the awards, this will probably be one of the longest Blog posts I ever make, but oh well.

We are the Kings and Queens!
30 Seconds to Mars have released their new single to the American Radio Stations. It is titled Kings and Queens. (Hence the title of this Blog Post) My personal reaction to it is one word: EPIC! Loved all of 30STM's old songs but this takes the Cheese and Biscuits, and throws them in the bin. It is that good to me. Here is a link to the first Youtuber I found to have uploaded it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HpHFC79awWo
I really recommend a listen, it's like nothing heard before! If this is how good the first single is gonna be, I can't wait for the freaking album!
Bring on This is War!

Random Scribble No.1
Hey, thought I'd give Blogging another go. Some may know I have tried in the past, but I gave up. So I decided to start again. Basically my Blog will consist of whatever I decide to put on it. This will range from Game news to My life. I will try to update daily, but it will more likely be 3 or 4 times a week.
Anyway this is Scribbling No.1 and it's just how I'm opening this blog, nothing news related or anything.
I have got Twitter for those who wish to follow me: www.twitter.com/TheAlphaSpyke
That's all for now, see ya.
*Note* Posts before this were from my old Blog
